In this poor economy I can see where sometimes a part-time job might look appealing. Okay, maybe to some people but I sure ain’t looking for one. It would cut into my fishing time and I am not letting that happen. Because I cannot fish 24/7, I do spend a little time online and in the process, I keep getting offered all of these great part-time jobs.
These are great jobs that offer a lot of money for doing almost nothing at all. Now if I were looking for work, that would be the kind of work I really would want. As I stress in all of my scammer alert postings, if something sounds too good to be true, IT IS!!!!
This particular one was interesting and ended with this guy trying to scare me but I no longer own any boots to be shaking in. Here is the thread in its entirety.

I answered with my usual burst of enthusiasm but only because he mentioned the part about nothing illegal. If I were hiring someone and they gave me such a nonchalant answer, they would probably never hear from me again.

How should my name appear on the money. I really like the ones that say Benjamin Franklin. Being a foreigner, I doubt he would have caught that.
He slipped this other e-mail in right away so he could maybe sound official. Maybe my enthusiasm was too much for him. If you actually take the time to read it, it is humorous as he asks how much I charge per month and then tells me what he will pay. I suppose next time, I will barter on that point and have no doubt will be offered whatever I ask for as this is a scam anyway. So I did send my real name and address again with my normal enthusiasm.
I never give them my phone number. There are already enough people that I do not wish to talk to.

OMG!!! Go check your mailbox. Most of what he has heard from me so far has only been “ok” yet he sends a check?? I guarantee it is not real.
I do my best to waste as much of this fool’s time as I am able. I did not deposit the check. I get so many, I am not real sure which one is actually his. None are any good.

I am sure it is safe to wire money to Mali with absolutely no recourse whatsoever. He wants me moving fast!! That is so I do not discover his bogus check before I send this money off. I really have to wonder how many people really send this money off to these morons. They must do ok or they would actually have a job instead of wasting their time doing this.
I am sure this is not how he envisioned this going. I sure can be an ignoramus at times.
Looks like the English is starting to slip a bit. Normally these intense conversations are not part of his job description.
My position is simple. I just never tell them until after the check as been sent. This check would never clear and this guy knows that.
At this point, I ignore these idiots and I see by the ALL CAPS, he is not happy. It just breaks my heart. I give him some CAPS back.
The English is not doing much better but this could just be a product of the public school system these days but I think not. I stay entirely on the subject of ALL CAPS with each and every one of these scumbags until it stops. This guy quit right away and started trying to be civil again.
So now I will break the bad news to him. Remember, the check is sitting on my kitchen table. I know it is not any good and I do NOT try to cash any of these because I would get a charge for depositing a bad check. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU TOO WOULD GET CHARGED FOR DEPOSITING ONE OF THESE BAD CHECKS TOO. DON’T DO IT!!
The money was removed from his “companies” account? Not from this check it wasn’t. The check is sitting right here and has not even driven by the bank.
This guy wrote back way more than most do but that is OK. The longer I can tie him up online, the less time he has to steal from someone else.
I even invite him over for dinner perhaps?
This is a cowardly online thief and nothing more. I have had far worse threats than this but none ever show up.
I wanted to be sure to remind him how cowardly he is.
I am certain that a portion of this money that is scammed off the internet is used to support terrorism. There has been an entire city in Romania that has been lavishly rebuilt with stolen internet money. The only way this will ever be stopped is when no one will fall for these tricks any longer. The law enforcement cannot stop these people so it is up to me and you to let others know what is going on. Social networking makes this possible so take the time to let someone know.
My Dad was called a week or so ago at his home and the caller claimed he won 1.5 million dollars because he paid his bills so well. They said if he wired the courier fee, UPS would deliver the check later in the day. He said, once the check is here and I know it is good, I will send your money. They did not like that but he reminded them of how well he pays his bill like they said. I am always telling Dad about these scammers that I deal with online so he was well aware of the tricks they use so he toyed with the morons just like I do. Perhaps we need to go fishing a little more?? Had this been someone who was not warned, the outcome could have been very different and these people prey on our older and trusting friends and family. I can only warn so many people online. Many who are vulnerable are not online and they have to be warned verbally by you and by me. Take the time to mention this to your loved ones so they are not victims. Take the time and pass it on!! Thanks.
